The County Administrative Board is the government's representative in the county and coordinates regional development work. Are you a qualified and experienced lawyer who wants to work with cross-authority legal issues and internal compliance with laws and other regulations? Then you might be the one we are looking for.

The unit for management and operational support is responsible for assisting the county management, i.e., the governor and the county council, with management support, e.g., by driving development issues and cross-authority strategic matters. The unit is now hiring a legal advisor whose task is to support the county management and other parts of the authority in cross-authority legal issues such as public law, total defense, and security protection, as well as quality assurance of preparatory documents, referrals, agreements, and contracts. The legal advisor will work closely with the chief legal officer and the legal unit.

Job Responsibilities
The legal advisor works with overarching legal issues at the County Administrative Board and leads the work for a good administrative culture within the authority. The role also includes responsibility for coordinating and conducting training within their area of responsibility. The legal advisor will assist the county management with expertise. The responsibilities of the legal advisor also include providing guidance on legal issues, participating in legal decisions that are of greater importance to the County Administrative Board, including cross-authority issues regarding compliance with regulations, and assisting with the internal control of certain contracts.

The legal advisor participates in decisions on opinions to the Government's Appeals Board. Other tasks within the employer's area of activity may also occur.

Qualifications
Are you the one we are looking for? For this role, we want you to have:

  • law degree or equivalent legal education
  • completed court clerk training
  • several years of experience in qualified legal work within public operations
  • several years of experience working with a consultative approach
  • good ability to make interest assessments from a legal perspective
  • good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

It is an advantage if you have experience with relevant tasks at a County Administrative Board or another government authority.

You are solution-oriented within the framework of legal security, drive and follow up on goals and results, and have a professional and pleasant demeanor. As a legal advisor, you need to handle both long-term strategic issues alongside rapidly arising cases. The position may be placed in a security class, and in that case, we will conduct a security review with a background check according to the provisions of the Security Protection Act before the position is assumed.
